I headed over to Wal-Mart Sunday night to do some deals. I don't shop there very frequently but there were quite a few really good deals I wanted to get, plus I was in desperate need of vacuum cleaner bags and Wal-Mart is one of the only places that sells the ones I need.
All in all I made out pretty well. I did have a bit of trouble with the $3/1 Gain Q's. Wal-Mart sells, the 40ct box for $1.87, and because the coupon does not specify a size limit it can be used on those. According to Wal-Mart's coupon policy the overage applies towards the balance of my transaction. Well, the cashier went into a bit of a tailspin over this, had to call a manager, and held up the loooong line for 10 minutes until the manager arrived. The manager told her I was right, and that not only does the overage apply, that she would have needed to give me cash back if I had only bought the dryer sheets.
After all was said and done, I got what I came there for. You can go here for my earlier posting on the matchups. (Be warned- the scotchbrite Q's beeped and did not go through! I did puchase 10 but they are going to be returned so I'm leaving them out of this scenario) Here's what I did:
Gain 40 ct Dryer Sheets x 4 (this is the limit stated on the coupon per transaction) @ $1.87 = $7.48
Purex Dryer Sheets (2 ct- found in the travel size aisle) x 3 @ $.97 = $2.91
Viva Paper Towel Roll- $1.97
Salonpas Pain Patches x 2 @ $4.12 = $8.24 (Used 2 x $3/1 IP's)
Rubbermaid Containers x 2 @ $3.77 = $7.54
Vacuum Bags- $ 6.28
Arm & Hammer Travel Size x 2 @ $.97 = $1.94
Sensodyne Travel Size x 2 @.97 = $1.94
Cremel Creamer $1.98 (used $1.50/1 from latest All You Mag)
Chapstick Clearanced to $.50
Total before coupons- $40.78
Total after coupons- $13.68
I have more of the Gain Q's that I need to use, meaning I'll probably make another trip tonight. Hopefully the same cashier is working so I don't have to go through the headache again- wish me luck!
