Meal Plan for the Week

Thursday, October 7, 2010

One of the things I do to save money and avoid the temptation of ordering a pizza because "there's nothing to eat" is create a meal plan for the week based on what I have on hand in my pantry/fridge/freezer and what's on sale.

Take a few minutes to make a weekly menu and write down just what you need in the house for each meal. Go through the freezer and the cabinets to take stock of what you have on hand already. I leave one free day a week just so I can take a day off, if I don't feel like cooking.

This week I have an abundance of pasta and cheese because of the recent sales. Here's my Meal Plan:

Thursday: Stir fried Jerk Pork Tenderloin
Black Beans & Yellow Rice

Friday: Baked Ziti
Salad

Saturday- Free Day

Sunday- Pot Roast
Mashed potatoes
Salad

Monday- BBQ Chicken
Baked Beans
Corn / Salad

Tuesday- Fettuccine Alfredo
Salad

Wednesday- Shredded Beef Tacos (made with leftover pot roast)
Refried Beans
